For this disc we've provided you with a 60 page technical summary of OpenDoc to get you thinking about how to revise your software to support this emerging cross-platform standard and answer your technical questions about the OpenDoc architecture.
OPENDOC BASICS
1) What is OpenDoc?
OpenDoc is a standards-based operating environment for component software. Just as PowerPC is leading the way to desktop RISC computing, OpenDoc is the software architecture that is leading the transition from monolithic applications to component software.

2) How to I get seeded with OpenDoc?
We are currently seeding OpenDoc on a limited basis. To apply for your copy of the OpenDoc seed and join the OpenDoc Early Access Program, we need the following from you:
• An e-mail addressed to AppleLink "OPENDOC" (or internet "opendoc@applelink.apple.com") with the following information: Your name, title, company, address, product and seeding justification/usage.
• Your commitment that you will build and send us a sample OpenDoc part within one month of receiving the seed. (Note: It usually takes people just a few days to get up to speed with OpenDoc and write a simple part.) Note that the OpenDoc team will be reviewing the submissions and will send OpenDoc team t-shirts to the authors of interesting & innovative sample parts.
